There are two takeaways from the recent elections in the UK and France.
Fascism and ultra-right-wing politics win when a portion of the electorate remains politically passive. As soon as the threat of a neofascist resurgence becomes real, as in France, the working class will mobilize. The Popular Front strategy still works.
Neoliberalism is finally on the way out. The politics of austerity that have dominated Western politics for the past 40 or so years is finally starting to buckle under its weight. The dialectic is moving.
